Hot Water Systems

In the majority of properties in this country, there are two different types of hot water system in use, instant or stored hot water.

Instant hot water: Uses a combination boiler (combi) and is more suited to properties with one bathroom.
Stored hot water:
- Open vented: Commonly there will be a boiler, a hot water cylinder in the airing cupboard and a cold water storage tank in the loft.
- Unvented: There will be a boiler and hot water cylinder, but no cold water storage tanks.
